The RQEMP, the student network of the RQMP, is happy to invite you to attend its 2011 Summer school. This year's edition is entitled: Shed light on matter.
Photonics
This year's theme is photonics. The field being very large, talks will be subdivided in three parts.
Light sources
Underlying all applications and all the research in optics, light sources always require more efficient advanced materials. Two presentations will address this subject.
Light detectors
The detection of light is ubiquitous in everyday modern technology. Cameras and photovoltaic cells are two cases that will be discussed in three presentations.
Interaction light/matter
Of all ages, the interaction between light and matter was a rich source of discoveries and applications. Four presentations will discuss the latest advances.
Related topics
This year, by popular request, there will be a talk about patents and careers in patent examination.
Date and location
The summer school will take place from August 17 to 19 at Hôtel Chéribourg (see lodging).
